·        October 15 and 16, 2007, Kellogg Center, Lansing, Michigan.  George keynoted the annual meeting of the Association for Children’s Mental Health.  He described essential emotional and psychological survival strategies for parents of children with psychiatric diagnoses.  He highlighted critical parenting skills for bringing out the positive genius in very difficult children.  Link here for his article in the ACMH newsletter titled “Six parenting practices for bringing out the hidden genius of very difficult children,” and here for the conference brochure.

 

  • July 23, through July 25, Denver, Colorado.  On July 23, George conducted a one day intensive on the topic of helping children at home and school diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and ADHD.  On July 24 he will lead a break-out workshop on the identification of children who demonstrate features of Bipolar Disorder and high functioning autism.  On July 25, he will lead a break-out workshop to develop application strategies for working with kids with Bipolar Disorder and ADHD at home and at school.  Contact the Colorado State Department of Education (PBS Program) for more information:  www.cde.state.co.us/pbs

 

·        April 23rd, 2007, George keynoted the annual meeting of Families Together in New York State on the topic of:  “Genius.  Nurturing the Spirit of Your Wild Odd and Oppositional Child.”  In the afternoon of the keynote George will conduct a break-out workshop.   In Albany, N.Y.  For more information see:  http://www.ftnys.org.
